From words to actions
2022 was an exceptional year in many ways. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, inflation, the rising prices of raw materials and energy, component shortages and many other disruptions hampered virtually every industry around the world.
Hopefully, by now at the latest, we will understand the importance of self-sufficiency in our society and will take proper care of it.
“Even we suppliers need to understand and accept that competition is good.”
The importance of free competition and interchangeability cannot be emphasised enough. The past few years have shown that even we suppliers need to understand and accept that competition is good.
Despite everything, 2022 was a busy year for the construction industry. In our industry, the aforementioned factors have not been quite as strong as in many other industries. Nevertheless, the outlook for 2023 is still obscure. There is talk of a recession everywhere, and this will certainly be reflected in construction in some way.
Responsibility is not just about words but also about actions
Every company in our industry is now talking about responsibility – and so are we. In our view, however, talking is not enough. In addition to words, actions are also needed, and we are investing more and more in responsibility. For Anstar, responsibility means:
- Local expertise
- Energy efficiency
- Staff well-being
- Sustainable finances
Local expertise. It is important for us that our customers know where our products come from. This way, we can serve our customers in other parts of the world as well, since we are constantly up to date on our production. We were awarded the Key Flag Symbol for local expertise four years ago as a sign of our Finnish origin and work.
“Our solar energy system now includes almost 300 panels.”
Energy efficiency. The continuous improvement in environmental performance can be seen in our composite beam products, for which we use a large amount of recycled steel. Our energy efficiency is also reflected in the energy we use, which is 100% renewable. Our solar energy system now includes almost 300 panels and generates about one-third of the electricity we need.
Staff. We are increasingly investing in the competence of our staff. Thanks to our investments in staff and machinery, that is, the level of automation, we can maintain cost-efficiency at a level that enables us to keep our production domestic also in the future.
Finances. Profitable business is the key to everything. It enables investments, staff well-being and development and innovations for ever-better construction. Our turnover will keep growing this year, and we believe that the growth will continue.
“We look to the future positively and with confidence.”
The year ahead will certainly be tough for construction, but we are ready. We look to the future positively and with confidence. We do things our way and hope to serve our customers and partners as well as possible.
We thank you for the past year. Good luck in the new year as well!
