Fastening plates

Standard Fastening Plates

AKL® and KL fastening plates transfer light loads from the related structure to the concrete base. AKKT angle rods are used at the corners of columns.

The AKL® fastening plate is suitable for shallow structures where there is space for the plate's short grips. The plate is placed at the edge of the structure at a minimum distance of just the protective concrete layer (25 mm) from the edge. In edge placement, the plate is always reinforced. The durability values of the AKL® fastening plate are determined based on the edge distance. The AKL® plate has three material options. AKKT angle rods are used at the corners of columns.

The KL fastening plate is suitable for structures where there is space for the plate's long grips. The plate can be placed at the edge of the structure at a minimum distance of the protective concrete layer (25 mm). The KL plate then has full tensile and bending strength. In edge placement, the plate is reinforced. The durability values of the KL fastening plate are determined based on the edge distance. The KL plate has three material options.

Fastening Plate Applications

  • AKL® and KL fastening plates are used in concrete structure joints to transfer the structure's forces through the plate to the base concrete.
  • The grip of the KL fastening plate is a direct reinforcing bar, making the plate suitable for the edge of a concrete structure with full tensile and bending strength.
  • The AKL® fastening plate has short grips and is suitable for shallow concrete.
  • Durability values are determined for both reinforced and unreinforced concrete structures.
  • Surface plate materials: S355J2+N and austenitic 1.4301 and 1.4401.

Joint Design

  • The durability values of the fastening plates comply with SFS-EN 1992-4:2018.
  • The fastening plate is designed using Anstar Oy's ASTEEL software.
  • The program calculates the fastening plate's loads for fracture and accident situations.
  • The program calculates the reinforcement of the fastening plate.
  • With the ASTEEL software, the profile to be welded to the fastening plate and the weld joint are calculated.
  • The software produces strength calculations for the fastening plate, the joint profile, and the weld.

The design of fastening plate joints can be carried out using Anstar Oy's ASTEEL software, which sizes the plates for the structure's loads and the plate's placement at the edge of the structure. The software sizes the reinforcement of the fastening plate as well as the profile to be welded to the plate and its weld joint. Joint design and strength calculations are produced at the same time.

AKLC-Custom Fastening Plates

AKLC-Custom is a product manufactured by Anstar Oy for project-specific attachment where standard products are not suitable. The dimensions and materials of the AKLC fastening plate are designed according to the order.

AKLC-Custom Fastening Plate Applications

The AKLC fastening plate is a specialty product for joints in element and in-situ cast structures. Its dimensions and durability values are defined project-specifically. The fastening plate transfers the forces of the attached structure through the surface plate and grips to the base concrete.

AKLC-Custom fastening plates are implemented for attachments placed in shallow structures. The plate uses short blunted grips in such cases. The fastening plate can also be made with direct reinforcing bar grips, allowing the plate to be inserted into dense reinforcement.

AKLC-Custom plates can also be used for heavy-duty attachments. The size and thickness of the surface plate are chosen, and the grip is either direct or blunted reinforcing bar grip. Durability values can be determined for unreinforced structures, and the plate can be reinforced for tensile and shear forces.

Joint Design

The structural designer makes a proposal for the plate's materials and dimensions, the distribution of grips, and defines the plate's loads and the dimensions of the joint profile. Anstar designs the plate using the ASTEEL software for the given fracture and accident situation loads. The durability values of the fastening plates are defined according to the SFS-EN 1992-4:2018 standard.

ASTEEL Design Software

The ASTEEL design software is a tool for designers to design steel profile base plates for bolt connections in concrete. The software uses Anstar Oy's heavy-duty anchor bolts and lightweight rebar bolts. The software is also used for attaching machinery and equipment to concrete foundations. The software includes joint types for composite beams, fastening plates, and bracing connections in concrete.

Heavy-duty Fastening Plates

Products

A-BEAM®

A-BEAM® and Anstar’s connection technology form part of the frame system, offering cost-efficiency and flexibility for construction.

Ties

Diagonal ties are used in concrete sandwich panels to connect the outer skin with the inner skin through the insulation layer. The ties transfer the self-weight and wind loads of the outer skin to the inner skin.

Fastening plates

Fastening plates are used on cast-in-place and prefabricated structures to provide a mounting surface for welding.

Suspension components

Anstar has developed bracket and support systems for efficient and affordable construction. The connection pieces are easy to install both at the prefabrication factory and on site.

Balcony connections

Balcony hinges are used to transfer horizontal forces from the balcony to the building frame. The hinged connection enables vertical movement.

Rebar bolts and anchor bolts

high-quality rebar and anchor bolts are responsibly made with recycled steel. There are two different basic types of bolts: ATP- ja AHP® rebar bolts and ALP® anchor bolts

AEP® hidden bracket

AEP® hidden brackets are used to fasten a concrete element beam or Anstar A-BEAM® to the side of a concrete element column, wall or another beam.

AOK® support

The AOK® support is used in a hollow-core slab floor opening as the load-bearing structure for the end of the slab. The AOK® support has been granted a patent, which enables exclusive rights to the most cost-effective support in the market.

Column shoes

Column shoes are used in light- and heavy-duty column extension and foundation connections; wall shoes are used in the tension connections of stiffening wall and shaft elements, retaining walls and earth pressure walls that stiffen the building.

Rebar couplers

Rebar couplers are used for joining rebars with full tension capacity. The ends of bars to be joined are provided with threads, and the bars are joined using a coupler sleeve that transfers the force on the rebar across the connection.

Bracing connections

ADE® and ADK® bracing connections are designed for stabilising the concrete element frame. These connections
are used in the joints between concrete columns and stabilising steel bracings.
