Standardisation for more efficient operations

The standardisation of steel products brings many benefits. To put it briefly, standardisation makes operations more efficient. But let’s go a little deeper than that.
Standardisation is about products that meet the European standards. In load-transferring connections in buildings, a standardised solution usually means products that meet the necessary requirements for product approval, quality control and responsibility, among other things. The resistance values of the connections have been determined in accordance with the current standards. Design and erection instructions for connections, as well as tools to facilitate design, have been prepared to facilitate everyday work.
Standardisation improves interchangeability and reduces quality variations as the products are sufficiently similar to start with. Thanks to this, standardisation brings significant savings in terms of money and time for the customer as well.
"Standardisation improves quality because production is continuous, and so is quality monitoring."
Individualised solutions as the opposite option
The opposite of standardisation is customised solutions, which are a more difficult option in many ways. Individualised solutions will inevitably increase costs. There will also be question marks over quality. Standardisation improves quality because production is continuous, and so is quality monitoring. For individualised products, quality monitoring is more difficult. If a mistake has already been made, nothing can be done about it.
At Anstar, we favour standardisation. Almost all of our connection pieces are standardised, and we always strive for standard solutions in all projects. Of course, we can also provide special solutions, but it is first worth considering what benefits standardisation would bring.
